He has been playing the pipes since 1972 and was originally taught by Pipe-Major Bert Barron BEM, one of Scotland's leading players and teachers. Over the years he has played with several prizewinning bands and has appeared on TV and radio.
Past clients include the British Tourist Authority, Radio Luxembourg and the German TV channel ZDF. More recently, he has played as a guest with several British military bands, André Rieu,and accompanied the brilliant young singer Faryl Smith.
A fluent German and French speaker, he also has a smattering of Russian and Japanese. Paul is available to add that certain flourish to special events such as corporate events, weddings, funerals or other special occasions. He will always appear in Highland dress suitable for the occasion, wearing either Muted Hunting Robertson (green) or Royal Stewart (red) tartan.
Piper since 1972. Has played with André Rieu's Johann Strauss Orchestra and at the Birmingham Tattoo.
